Molecular biology largely concerns itself with understanding the interactions among the various systems of a cell, comprising the interactions between the biological molecules (i.e. DNA, RNA and proteins) as well as learning how these interactions are synchronized. On the other hand, biotechnology is the utilization of living organisms to develop or make beneficial products, or any technical application that uses biological systems, living organisms or their byproducts, to modify products or processes for identifiable purposes.

Diversity of Plant Defensin Genes (Ms. M. K.  Constantino)

Mission and Core Values

The goal of the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Research Group is to explore the basic mechanisms in molecular biological processes focusing on cell biology, genetics, functional genomics and biotechnology.
